AvtechTyee Passenger Address Systems
Public Address systems are integral to FAA Part 23 compliance for transport aircraft, providing not just pleasant boarding music or that familiar chord chime when calling an attendant, but also providing means to instruct passengers of key safety briefing content, and allowing both the cabin and flight crew to direct passengers in the unlikely event of an emergency.
AvtechTyee public address systems were first introduced on the deHavilland Dash8 and CASA platforms for transport aircraft, followed by the innovation of a combined public address and cabin interphone system (PACIS). This PACIS reduced the number of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) used in the space constrained electronics bay, while meeting FAR requirements for independence and isolation. The PACIS design was introduced on the Bombardier CRJ aircraft, along with deployment on the Embraer E-Jets. Future PACIS usage will appear on the Mitsubishi MRJ and Embraer E2 platforms. There are five part families used for Passenger Address:
